This is an agency position, offering flexible hours per week, with an hourly rate of £11.50 plus holiday pay on top. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of the school's catering services, ensuring that students receive nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment.Responsibilities:Food Preparation: Assist with the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes, portion sizes, and dietary guidelines. This includes chopping, peeling, and slicing ingredients, as well as assembling ingredients for recipes.Serving and Portioning: Assist in the efficient and timely service of meals to students, ensuring appropriate portion sizes and adherence to any special dietary requirements.Cleaning and Sanitization: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas. This includes cleaning work surfaces, utensils, and equipment, as well as maintaining a tidy and organized kitchen environment.Stock Control: Assist in monitoring stock levels of food, beverages, and other kitchen supplies. Notify the Catering Manager of any shortages or items nearing expiration to ensure an adequate supply is maintained.Dietary Requirements: Familiarize yourself with any specific dietary requirements of students, such as allergies or intolerances, and ensure appropriate meals are provided to meet their needs.Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines, including safe food handling practices, to ensure the kitchen and dining areas are safe and hygienic environments for staff and students.Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Chef Manager and other team members to ensure efficient and coordinated delivery of catering services. Provide assistance and support as required.Requirements:Enhanced DBS: Possess an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate or be willing to undergo the necessary checks. This is to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people in line with our school's policies.Previous Experience: While prior experience in a similar catering role is desirable, it is not essential.
