Chef Supervisor

This Chef position could be what you are looking for.

We are working alongside HM Prison Service in the search for a Chef based in West London.
The role is in the main kitchen working in a team of up to 30 at a time.

Working an average of 37.5 hours per week on a 4-week rota, you will get every other weekend off.
There are no late shifts, so the latest finish is 6 pm. Shifts vary slightly but are usually 7.30am-4.30pm.
This role is available on a temporary basis translating to a permanent placement at the end of a successful security process and probationary period.
The site is accessible on public transport. However, there is free parking on site for drivers.

Main responsibilities of the position are:

* Catering in part of a team for up to 1700 people
* Ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to
* Assisting with clear down and clean up after service
* Monitoring equipment checks
* Supervising a small team
* Some low-level escorting duties are required, these will be assisted.

In return, you can expect a basic pay rate of £13ph Monday to Friday, £15ph Saturdays and £17ph Sundays. You’ll also accrue holiday pay on top of these rates, be paid weekly and have the option of joining a company pension scheme.

If you complete a successful probationary period and are offered and permanent role, you will benefit from a London weighting salary, government pension, sick leave, childcare vouchers and 33 days holiday per year, rising every year of service.

This role would suit a candidate that is capable of dealing with large volume catering, while multi-tasking and supervising a team.
Communication is important in this role, so the ability to liaise with departments, prisoners and clients quickly, in a polite manner, and also deal with complaints and questions efficiently.

The cooking skill set required is at a Chef De Partie level. However there is a supervisory element to the role, so this could suit a Sous or Head Chef or even a Catering Manager with some cooking knowledge and experience.

A security check will need to be completed before placement, which will be conducted by the Prison Service.
