As we say a fond farewell to the last financial year, we find ourselves set and ready to start the new! Exciting news at Twentysix as we acknowledge our growth as a business and continue to plan some exciting new changes for the coming year!
These are uncertain times, the whole Brexit debacle has seen a more cautious approach within the business community, but generally, it’s been business as usual; planning, recruiting, maintaining our service level and ensuring we remain a specialist within our sector. Brexit will be another hurdle to navigate as and when it occurs.
Our staff, both in the office and out representing our business on placement, are the driving force of Twentysix and key to everything we do. We are thankful for the quality of work and dedication shown. Without them, we would simply cease to exist.
That said, let’s get down to business; with the new year financial year ahead of us, here are some relevant points that may be of interest.
The new employee personal allowance has increased, which means less tax paid across the year, that is ALWAYS good news! The new tax code is now 1250L, which basically means you can earn up to £240 per week tax-free! If you have a question about your tax code, contact HMRC in the first instance on 0300 200 3300
All P60 information for tax year 18/19 will be sent out between 6th April and 31st May. If you do not receive your P60 between these dates, please contact the office on 01634 791990
Worker Handbook 2019
The updated worker handbook will be sent out in the coming weeks. We ask that it’s read thoroughly and ensure you are aware of all aspects of working for Twentysix Recruitment.
National Minimum Wage (NMW)
The NMW will increase from April 2019 for over 25s from £7.83ph to £8.21ph. This is in-line with the government legislation and will be applied automatically to the relevant placements paying the NMW.
Pension Contribution Increase
Those paying into the company pension will see an increase in contributions from April 2019. Twentysix will now pay 3% into your pension fund and you will pay 5%. You have the right to opt out of the pension scheme should you wish. Contact the nominated pension provider to discuss in more detail.
