Are you tired of the physicality of being a chef?
Do you want a better work/life balance?
Fancy something a little different, but still want to use your skills and knowledge?

If you said yes to any of these questions, read on, as this may be the Chef role for you!

Our client based close to Stradishall, Newmarket needs a Chef to work within a high security unit.

You will be part of a team of up to 6 Chefs, who manage and supervise op to 20 kitchen staff.

You will work an average of 37 hours per week, and you'll even get every other weekend off, so you'll get to spend quality time with friends and family.
You won't be required to work split shifts or doubles, and you'll finish before 6pm every day.

Generally, your shifts will vary between 7.30am starts and 6pm finishes, with earlier finishes on a weekend.

Initially you'll be working through Twentysix Recruitment on a temp basis, but you will receive the same rota as permanent staff.
You could get access to permanent opportunities as they arise within this government-based facility.

Main responsibilities of this chef role are as follows:

* Catering in part of a team of up to 30, supervising a small team of your own.
* You'll be helping to provide 3 meals per day.
* You'll monitor the junior staff to ensure allergen and dietary regulations are followed safely.
* Supervising the set up and clear down of each service.
* You'll need to follow recipe sheets, whilst being able to use your chef skills.
* You will also be responsible for some security and safety checks.

The skill set required is of a Chef De Partie level, but as there are supervisory requirements, could also suit someone of a Sous Chef, Head Chef or even a Chef Manager level.

Due to the supervisory element of this role, communication is just as important as the skills required.
You will be a motivator, mentor and show the ability to lead a small team.
You'll need to be a calm figure, who works well under pressure and is able to deal with a challenging environment.

Due to the rural location of the site, own transport is essential.

In return, you can expect the following hourly pay rates.

* Monday to Friday - £18.00 per hour, plus a further £2.17 per hour in holiday accrual.
* Saturday - £22.00 per hour, plus a further £2.65 per hour in holiday accrual.
* Sunday - £24.00 per hours, plus a further £2.89 per hour in holiday accrual.

You get paid weekly each Friday, get access to a company pension scheme and we will also set you up on a high street perks app.
